About Tellico Safe

Connecting local schools with the Tellico Club for community engagement and support.

How did S.A.F.E. get started

Several men in the Kahite neighborhood of Tellico Village gathered to determine a unique way to give back to the community of Vonore, TN. Fortunately, all of us have been helped at some point in our lives by adults that guided, pushed, and motivated us along the way. We determined that our willingness to devote time and labor (aka hands-on activities) would be at the foundation of both our community service and fundraising.

Sports is the skill that is common amongst our team and therefore, the main avenue by which we would reach the community. All of us participated in and coached a variety of sports. We also have invaluable life experiences through our careers such as: human resources, military command, teaching, counselors, executives from a wide variety of professions, and board members from non-profit entities.

If successful we aspire to be similar to an informal “big brother and big sister” type of organization where we could provide guidance (as appropriate) to children who may not have role models in their lives.

The underlying common thread in all of us is that we love working with children and are grateful for the opportunities that the Vonore community has afforded us in our later years!
